Yes, they have some vegetarian options.
The food is always good this is the 3rd time I have been here and the servers are very friendly. If the owner is there he always greets people and talks to you. It's a cozy place with instrumental and relaxing music, they have Mediterrane night the 2nd Thursday of the month and they have live flamingo music, French night is to socialize they put old school French music on the TV, Turkish belly dancer event that will be around November December.
The food here is always excellent. I'm partial to the lamb gyro with tzatziki sauce but decided to branch out a bit for lunch today. The savory pie I had for lunch was interesting and very tasty. The shredded chicken was well seasoned and flavorful. This is a great place to sit and talk while having a coffee. I don't know what they put in their iced tea but I could drink a gallon of it.
Always good fresh food. Great service.
Very good food, great lunch specials
Excellent waitresses and the food was delicious!!Olive oil grade C.Not the good stuff.
The Olive Tree Cafe is a wonderful spot to have a quick and light lunch. The food tastes delicious and fresh every time I've gone. The portion sizes are good, and it's not super pricey. Every time I've gone the restaurant and tables are clean and everything feels neat and inviting, The staff has always been friendly, helpful and attentive.
Very good and interesting food at very affordable price. Service was very pleasant. Excellent experience.
Delicious! Exceeded all expectations!! Try the tagine chicken which fell off the bone, it has a savory lemon flavor with potatoes. They also offered homade sweet mint tea which was very refreshing. Will be back!
Great food and quick service. Love all their vegan options and extensive kids menu.
Mediterranean menu. Very casual, typical strip mall restaurant.I was underwhelmed by the dishes we chose. The pastitsio was a little dry but good. The chicken shawarma was ok as well. we were offered a Lebanese wine which I really enjoyed. The coffee was excellent and the baklava sundae was delicious. I'd go back for the coffee and dessert. There were so many menu other types of dishes, I definately will go back to try something else. The place has been there for a long time and it was packed.
Food was seasoned and made fresh. Portions size was small for the expensive price. The online price was different from the restaurant price. $5.50 for a house salad that's $3.50 online. My son didn't enjoy his meal but said the fries were good. I won't visit again.
Food was a little pricey for the tiny morsels that they served, but overall good quality. If the prices (or portions) were right, this place would've very well gotten 5 stars from me. As it was, my 1-person bill came to $36 ! Normally, this kind of price would be enough food for 4 meals, at least !! But I left this place feeling just as hungry as when I went in. On the plus side, service was great. The wait staff were all very friendly. But my waitress, Autumn, took customer-relations (customer service) to another level. Non-presumptuous, non-generalizing, very open-minded, and completely non-biased, SHE is an example of what every customer-focused business needs, but most are lacking. I was so impressed with her top-notched friendliness, service, and attention to me that I left her an $8.00 tip, and it was totally worth it. If you go here, ask for Autumn to be your server, you won't be disappointed !!!
HALAL. Friendly staff. great decor and seating area. Food tastes good. High prices though. You receive small portions of a meal for a high price.
Great service, food was good. Tried the shawarma which wasn't the best i have had, but still good.
My new favorite restaurant in Newark! I love the food options here. I'm vegan and the menu clearly marks its food items as vegan or vegetarian, which is very helpful. Usually I have to read all of the ingredients for an item to confirm that I can eat it, but here I can simply skim the menu. The food is absolutely delicious and at reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and the owner sometimes comes to the table to ensure that you're having a good experience. The atmosphere is also very pleasant. Highly recommend!
Excellent food! We were at the Bob Carpenter center and wanted somewhere to eat afterward. So glad we came here. Great service and great atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
Nice restaurant. No wait time. Friendly staff. As a Pakistani I prefer spicy food. Mediterranean fare is rather bland. The restaurant is pricey too.
*Recommend* *Friendly Staff* *Delicious Light Food* We really enjoyed the food and service here at this establishment and would definitely return in the future!
The exterior of this place is so unattractive that we hesitated to enter at the beginning. However, the taste of the food totally blew our minds! I had a lamb with prunes, dried apricots and almonds tagine served with seasoned rice. The lamb was extremely tender and full of flavor, well combined with the sweetness of dried fruits and the chewiness of almonds. Amazing food that is highly recommended!
The best Mediterranean food in the area. Great menu. Fragrant and complexly spiced food. Great for take out too.
Superb food cooked to perfection. All dishes are prepared with a high degree of excellence. The owner Elias really cares about what he is doing. I highly recommend dining there.
Being Palestinian it is tough to find quality Mediterranean food. The dips were great, and the food was delicious. The staff will walk you through descriptions of entrees in case you have never tried any of these delicacies.
Great food and service. Sangria was generously sized and delicious. The location is meh, in a plaza next to a grocery store and liquor store. But do not let that detract you. Had the quiche, which was fantastic. Hubby had the falafel sandwich, very yummy. We will be back...
Quite a good Mediterranean cuisine.
Wonderful experience. I'm always happy when I can support a local business vs. a big chain restaurant. Many vegan options, awesome baklava and falafel. Comfortable and quiet enough for conversation. Can't wait to go back again!
Awesome food, Lovely people, Great Service. Dinner there was a delight. They have very nice selection of menu from soups, dips and appetizers to main course and tea/desserts. We tried beef soup, meatballs, wings, clay pot lamb entree, Kebab platter and Baklava Sunday. Everything was very good and made to perfection. Clay pot entrees are very well presented. Lamb one has sweeter taste from apricot so just make sure of it before ordering if you like sweetness in your entree. Turkish mint tea was beautifully served in traditional pot. I never had Baklava Sundae. It was an innovative presentation. Would definitely recommend this place.
Great authentic Mediterranean cuisine.
Outstanding Mediterranean food!!! Reasonably priced, clean, nice atmosphere and music, even romantic. Friendly helpful staff. Owner stops by tables to see how it was. Food was fresh, perfectly prepared and seasoned, decent portion size; just like grandmother used to make. The tea is excellent! Bathroom was clean. Highly recommended!
Delicious authentic food with great service!
